The first Industrial Westermo PoE switch
Westermo has introduced a new compact industrial Power over Ethernet (PoE) switch designed to support the ever-growing networking requirements of devices such as security cameras, wireless access points and monitors. The Lynx 3510 PoE Series is capable of supporting networks with higher power requirements and is ideal for handling the high data volume, high bandwidth, and mission-critical applications typically found in transportation, manufacturing, energy, and smart cities.</p
By powering and transmitting data over the same cable, PoE helps reduce network complexity and offers greater installation flexibility, reliability, and time and cost savings. Lynx 3510 PoE expands network capabilities by supporting the needs of multiple powered devices, with each of the eight copper ports providing gigabit speed and up to 30W of power. This is ideal for connecting HD IP CCTV cameras in industrial environments and other power-hungry applications. The Lynx 3510 PoE also offers redundant and fast failover, while Westermo's FRNT ring protocol ensures fast network recovery in the event of node or connection loss.
Ensuring the security of industrial data communications networks is extremely important, especially in the face of increasingly sophisticated cyber attacks. To reduce risk and increase cyber resilience, the Lynx 3510 PoE has an extensive set of advanced cyber security features. These can be used to build networks in compliance with IEC 62443, which defines the technical requirements for securing components of data communications networks.
"The Lynx 3510 PoE is the first product based on a new high-performance platform. It is available as both a switch and a router with impressive performance, capable of handling the bandwidth of future networks." said Henrik Jerregård, senior product manager at Westermo. "The Lynx 3510 PoE is extremely reliable and designed to maintain uninterrupted data communications even in the harshest of environments, and by offering a total of 240W of power, it will help expand the capabilities of PoE networks."
The DIN rail mountable Lynx 3510 PoE has been extensively tested to meet a range of industry standards for electromagnetic compatibility, isolation, vibration and shock. Featuring an all-metal fanless enclosure with an IP40 rating, this extremely durable switch has a wide operating temperature range. Superior build quality, industrial-grade components, high levels of isolation between interfaces and redundant power supplies help extend life and create an extremely reliable solution that contributes to a lower total cost of ownership.
Lynx 3510 PoE helps reduce complexity and is powered by the WeOS operating system, which provides continuous operation and support for an expanding range of communications protocols and features, simplifying installation, operation and maintenance. WeOS provides future-proof networking solutions with a high level of resilience and security.
